We are committed to caring for the environment, as well as the health and well-being of local people.
The trust’s carbon reduction strategy, originally developed in 2009-10, reflects our commitment to improve the footprint of the hospital. In 2015/16 our energy consumption fell by 2.4% to 32.1 million kWh from the previous year. Greenhouse gas emissions fell 6% to 1260 metric tonnes, water consumption fell 2% to 119,451 litres and electricity consumption fell 5% to 32.1MWh. We have reduced our total carbon footprint by over 25% since 2007/8.
