Tackling extremist material is important to protect the public and prevent offences that incite or promote terrorism and extremism. Members of the public are being asked by the national Counter Terrorism Internet Referral Unit to report inflammatory material on websites and in social media to them for 36 hours from 7am on 15 April. The campaign is being supported across the NHS.
The Counter Terrorism Internet Referral Unit are constantly working to remove terrorist and extremist material which may be used to target young and vulnerable people but rely on public support to help this effort. To help keep everyone safe they are asking anyone who has concerns about online content to report it by clicking the STOP Terrorists’ & Extremists’ Online button.
