New eye care service for Enfield residents

Wednesday, April 5, 2017

A brand new eye care service for Enfield residents will provide patients with top quality care closer to their homes.

The Royal Free London and North Middlesex University Hospital will jointly provide the community ophthalmology service from this month (1 April), run by healthcare professionals, including consultants, nurse specialists, orthoptists and optometrists.

The service is for adults and children with non-urgent conditions such as glaucoma, cataract care, macular degeneration, and blurred vision. Patients will be seen at the following locations:

Chase Farm Hospital
127 The Ridgeway, Enfield,
EN2 8JL

Tel: 020 3758 2038

North Middlesex University Hospital
Sterling Way, London,
N18 1QX

Tel: 020 8887 3935

Patients can access the service through a GP’s referral and will be offered a choice of clinic locations.

The service is a one-stop shop for patients who have routine clinical conditions.

The service is only for patients registered with an Enfield GP and is not for patients who need emergency care.

Martin Harris, the clinical lead for the service, said: “We are delighted to offer this new service for Enfield patients with routine eye conditions. This service will allow patients to access eye care closer to their homes in a one-stop shop. It will be staffed by a range of healthcare professionals offering patients high quality care and support.”
