We're pleased to announce that Dr Emma Whicher has today (Monday 17 December 2018) taken up the role of medical director at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust, joining from NHS Improvement where she was regional medical director for London since 2016.
Speaking of her appointment, Dr Whicher said: “I am delighted to be taking up the post of medical director at North Mid and am really looking forward to being part of the Trust. Over the last 18 months, I have been really impressed with everyone I’ve met whilst working closely with the hospital and as a result, I jumped at the opportunity to be part of North Mid.”
Maria Kane, Chief Executive of North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust said: “I’m so pleased to welcome Emma to North Mid as our new medical director. Her knowledge, expertise and passion will make a huge contribution towards North Mid’s vision of providing outstanding care for local people.”
Prior to joining NHS Improvement, Dr Whicher was medical director at South West London and St Georges Mental Health Trust for four and half years where she developed its quality improvement series and oversaw a £160m modernisation programme. A consultant psychiatrist specialising in drug and alcohol misuse, Dr Whicher will continue her clinical practice alongside North Mid’s psychiatric liaison team.
