Families who have their baby at North Middlesex University Hospital will be amongst the first in the country to receive a Finnish-style Baby Box for their newborn to sleep in. Launching to coincide with Infant Mortality Awareness Month, North Middlesex University Hospital is the second hospital in the UK to commence the Baby Box programme.

North Middlesex University Hospital accepts Care Quality Commission’s report and acknowledges need for improvements

North Middlesex University Hospital has recognised that urgent improvements must be made to its accident and emergency department following a Care Quality Commission (CQC) report.

The report, published today (6 July), follows the health regulator’s inspection of the hospital’s A&E department on 14 April 2016. It finds that medical care requires some improvement, but rates the urgent and emergency services as ‘inadequate’.

Junior doctors at North Middlesex University Hospital are taking industrial action from 9am to 5pm on Tuesday 26 and  Wednesday 27 April due to a national dispute over junior doctors’ contracts.

Those taking part in the strike will withdraw from emergency work as well as non-emergency roles.
