North Middlesex University Hospital's communications team handles hundreds of media enquiries each year. We are also responsible for the management of the website, internal communications, social media, events in the hospital, the majority of the trust's internal and external publications, filming and photography requests.   We provide support and advice to the trust on a full range of communications issues. Confidentiality
We owe both our patients and staff a duty of confidentiality and will not release information to journalists about individuals without their consent.
However, if a patient or someone acting on his or her behalf has invited the media to report on their treatment we may comment, restricting our response to the correction of inaccuracies. 


Filming and photography at the hospital
We try to accommodate news crews who wish to cover a story relating to the hospital or general health matters wherever possible. However, we are a small team and this is, regrettably, not always possible. Please contact us to discuss the details. We make no charge for this kind of filming.

TV & production companies and photographers looking for a hospital location for a shoot can also be provided for. We have a track record of working with major TV drama productions, documentary and factual programme crews. We usually charge a fee which will contribute to patient services. Fees are commensurate with the scale of the filming and the time spent on site. For filming to take place in the hospital: 

  • Staff and patients must all give written consent to be filmed
  • Patient and staff safety is paramount at all times and film crews must follow advice from hospital staff.
  • Rigorous infection prevention and control procedures must be followed at all times.
  • The crew must be accompanied by a member of hospital staff at all times. Please contact the communications team for details.
