Ophthalmology

For over 30 years, the ophthalmology department based at the North Middlesex University Hospital (NMUH) has operated within a modern unit based in Clinics 2, 3 and 4 in the main outpatients’ department area, Level 0.

We also provide community clinics based at both Chase Farm and Cheshunt community hospitals.

As a service, we strive to provide an excellent quality service to our patients. Our department is recognised for the learning culture it cultivates with the junior doctors who rotate in the department, August to August

Patients who attend their outpatients’ appointments at NMUH will be asked to report to Clinic 3. Urgent care opthalmology services are based in from Clinic 2.  Patients who are having an injection  will be asked to go to clinic 4. Patients who are having their operation will report to the Day Surgery unit on level 1 of the Tower block.

The department is commissioned to provide an ophthalmic service to patients who live in the boroughs of Enfield and Haringey. Referrals are managed within the 18 week referral-to-treatment target.
