Privacy & Dignity

The privacy and dignity of all our patients is of great importance to us.

Please check with the ward manager before using any personal entertainment devices (such as portable televisions, MP3/CD players, games consoles or mobile telephones). They can be noisy and may disturb other patients. Patients and visitors may not take photographs anywhere in the hospital in order to protect the privacy and dignity of other patients and staff.

Please also respect our visiting policy which helps maintain a calm and restful environment for everyone that protects your dignity and privacy.

If you need to stay in the hospital for one or more nights, you will be assigned a bed in a single-sex bay or room within a ward. It's possible that men and women patients may be cared for on the same ward but in separate areas. Ward staff will explain the arrangements to you soon after your arrival. Whenever possible we will seek to place you in single-sex accommodation.
