Patient Advice & Liaison Service

If you are unhappy with any aspect of your care, please discuss your concerns, in the first instance, with the ward manager (sister) or senior nurse (matron) of the ward or department concerned.

The ward manager can be identified by their dark blue uniform. The senior nurse can be identified by their purple uniform.

However, if you prefer, you can contact our patient advice and liaison service (PALS) directly and talk to any of the team confidentially. PALS has been set up to help you and your family when you require on the spot help, support or advice. The PALS team will act as independent facilitators and can negotiate speedy resolutions of problems with the appropriate staff. They also provide information on hospital services and external voluntary and statutory organisations who may be able to help you. Talking to the PALS team won't affect your treatment and it can help us to improve our service for you and other patients.
