About Infection Control
The infection prevention and control team aim to establish and maintain professional networks and act as facilitators of change agent enabling staff to embrace strategies required for change. The team act as expert resources for staff at a clinical level in infection prevention and control.
We work autonomously as specialist practitioners responsible within the operational scope of the Infection and prevention control team and offer the following services:
- Facilitating the prevention and control of infection,
- Surveillance,
- Investigating outbreaks,
- Update policies, leaflets and procedures,
- Advice on the selection, maintenance and decontamination of equipment,
- Education and training on infection risk, principles of infection control including hand hygiene
- Advice on infectious diseases.
