North Mid celebrates its centenary in style

North Mid staff celebrated the hospital’s 100th birthday in style yesterday during a high-spirited day at the Centenary Expo.

The celebrations marked one hundred years of being known as what we all know and love as North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust.

The Trust's education centre was transformed for the expo which ran from 11.30am to 4.30pm with ceiling balloons, a gold 100 balloon, confetti, decorated stations and more.

The event also had bundles of fun entertainment which gave staff an insight into the past, present and future of North Mid.

Nnenna with Gary Local historian Gary Boudier and author of ‘History of the North Middlesex University Hospital’ was there speaking to staff about parts of the fascinating history of our wonderful hospital.

Whilst some enjoyed the music from our Centenary Playlist – which were songs all chosen by you that reminded you of North Mid – others enjoyed the fun games dotted around the room, including testing staff about their knowledge of the hospital and its history.

Centenary - happy staff Staff were also given the chance to see the hospital’s exciting future through the model of what North Mid will look like in years to come.

The #DigitalNorthMid team were also there talking all about the exciting ‘Tap n Go’ tech which is set to launch across our Trust in February 2022.

Chief executive, Dr Nnenna Osuji, said:  “It was really great seeing staff enjoying the expo and celebrating 100 years of North Mid. The event not only showcased great pieces of our history but also a glimpse into the exciting future of the Trust. It’s clear to me that staff hold a real connection to North Mid and I’m glad they enjoyed commemorating this historic milestone.”

We would like to say a special thank you to all the exhibitors and volunteers who helped out to make the day as good as it was.

And further thanks to everyone who turned up throughout the day – Happy 100!
