Railway engineers on track to raise over £1000 for North Mid patients

Children and teenagers who need to spend time at North Mid will have some state-of-the-art new entertainment items to make their stay whistle past, thanks to generous staff at a railway engineering company.

Over the last month, staff at leading railway contractor QTS Group have been putting together a hugely generous donation of toys for young patients at North Mid.

Ranging from play-doh to play kitchens, no expense was spared as over £800 worth of children’s goodies were presented to the team of doctors, nurses, play workers and other colleagues in our Paediatrics Assessment Unit and children’s wards. In addition to this, QTS Group donated £250 towards our ongoing Hospi-Gamer campaign, which aims to purchase two gaming units for in-patients.

Fundraising manager Mete Redif said:

“We are truly grateful for the generous donation of toys and money from the staff at QTS GroToy Donationup, their staff and their subcontractors. Donations like this go a long way in helping our younger patients during their time in hospital, and for a smaller charity like ourselves this will have a huge impact.

“I hope this will kickstart a wave of donations across the Trust as we approach the run-up to Christmas, which is always a difficult time for those having to spend the festive period in hospital.”

We have a number of campaigns currently running, and you can donate them or to our general fund online .

If you would like to donate your time, money or gifts to other projects at North Mid Charity we would love to hear from you. Contact our fundraising manager on t 020 8887 2935 or northmid.donations@nhs.net.
