Nursing care at North Mid finalists for nine Nursing Times Awards 2022

Nursing care at North Mid for children with allergic conditions, premature babies, frailty and reducing health inequalities has received national recognition by being shortlisted for nine Nursing Times Awards.

The nine awards North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust has been shortlisted for are:

  • Children’s Service of the Year Award
    • Improving the lives of children, young people and families living with allergic conditions in urban north London
    • Parent-led ward rounds in neonatal care
  • Managing Long-Term Conditions Award
    • Improving the lives of children, young people and families living with allergic conditions in urban north London
    • Closing the gap between glycaemic control and health inequalities
  • Team of the Year Award
    • Parent-led ward rounds in neonatal care
    • Closing the gap between glycaemic control and health inequalities
  • Care of Older People Award
    •  Joining the Acute Frailty Network
  • Patient Safety Improvement Award
    • Joining the Acute Frailty Network
  • Nurse of the Year Award
    • Anne Biggs

Sarah Hayes, chief nurse at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust, said: “It’s incredible that the progress we have made in nursing care over the last year is being recognised at this national level.

“It’s a great privilege to lead our nursing teams here and the news that they are finalists for nine awards will be a real boost as we continue to make our services even better for our local community.”  

Dr Nnenna Osuji, chief executive at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust, said: “To be shortlisted for such a large number of awards means so much to our teams, and I am immensely proud of the hard work, collaboration and improvements taking place across North Mid that put our patients first.”
