‘Tis the season for giving at local primary school

Local primary school pupils from Oakthorpe came together to donate toys and cards to patients at North Mid.

The school’s council consists of pupils from year groups across the school and came together to offer their help for children and young patients having to spend time in hospital during the festive season.

Pupils worked with their teachers to organise a donation of toys to be shared with children on the ward as well as raising over £230 for the North Mid Charity Hospi-Gamer campaign; to purchase clinical gaming units for the paediatric wards.

Christmas Cards Not set with just donating, the children took part in a school wide project to write Christmas cards which will be delivered across the Trust as a part of the North Mid Charity ‘Cards from our Community’ Campaign.

Sarah Kenny at Oakthorpe Primary School said: “Oakthorpe Primary School would like to thank North Middlesex University Hospital for letting us be a part of your Christmas campaign. We also want to wish all of the staff and patients at North Middlesex University Hospital a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.”

The donation is the first in a line of gifts being received by North Mid Charity for patients and staff across the Trust during the festive period.
