#ThisIsMe - Amina Hdioudad

It’s important to be patient within our environment, have understanding, all whilst remaining steadfast through being 'your authentic self'

Words by Amina Hdiouad

My name is Amina Hdiouad I am the current logistics manager for Medirest.

My journey first started at North Mid during 2012 alongside the Medirest team in the catering department. During my time within the department, I was able to pick up key skills, better work methods in operations and adopt a general proactive behaviour. I have previously studied at the City of Westminster college and have obtained certificate in Media Studies & Business; I had an absolute fantastic experience during my colleague period. I was able to network with students from various parts of London and found the practical side of the course beneficial and enjoyable.

amina With relation to diversity, North Mid strongly shows a diverse work force in regard to its structure throughout.  Working amongst different characteristics individually and collectively, and working amongst a variety cultures work force embody the North Mid way. I believe my characteristics make me stand out from the crowd due to my mind frame and characteristics, working at North Mid has made me more aware, more adaptable and agile to different settings and surroundings.

During the Covid period I suffered a loss of a dear close family member, the experience made me reflect within myself on a deeper level to understand and be more appreciative of life and the moments in which we live through. The support I received from colleagues at North Mid was overwhelming and beyond gracious. Generally speaking, I have been fortunate where I have been treated well in a positive manner by most staff on site.

No matter how big the challenge, North Mid continues to prove itself to be resilient as it stands firm in its working culture. I've learned that people, colleagues, and staff come from various walks of life. Some have struggled whilst others have thrived. It’s important to be patient within our environment, have understanding, all whilst remaining steadfast through being 'your authentic self'. amina
