Harmony in Healthcare: Rowantree Choir's musical gift to North Mid

In a heartwarming display of community spirit, the Rowantree Choir recently graced North Middlesex University Hospital with a special performance. 30 members of the choir, known for their delightful harmonies and uplifting melodies, gathered to lend their voices as a donation performance in support of the North Mid Charity. The event aimed to bring joy and solace to patients, boost the spirits of dedicated hospital staff, and express gratitude to the tireless volunteers who play a crucial role in our local NHS Hospital.
Patients, staff, and volunteers were treated to a musical performance, offering a delightful experience for a moment of relaxation.
The Rowantree Choir dates back 1959 when an Enfield Borough Council ran a number of Adult Evening Classes, one of which was a choir. The class met in the Rowantree Secondary School (the building which is now Edmonton Lower School in Little Bury Street). When, in the late eighties, the Council stopped the funding for this and many other classes, the members of the choir decided they wanted to keep meeting and singing, and the Rowantree Choir was launched.
Adrian Saull (Membership Secretary) said: “Singing is such good therapy, and we love performing. Once we started meeting after Covid, we have aimed to get out and about more often to expand our horizons. So, it was a pleasure to put on a programme at North Middlesex Hospital”.
The Rowantree Choir's performance at North Mid stands as a heart-warming example of our local community coming together to give back to their local hospital. Through their melodious gift, the choir brought joy, comfort, and appreciation to patients, staff, and volunteers. We look forward to hearing their performances back at North Mid again soon.
