Christmas cheer as Spurs stars pop by for a virtual hello

Children being cared for at North Middlesex University Hospital were treated to a special virtual hello from players from Spurs football team earlier this week.

Players Dele Alli, Sergio Reguilon and Tanguy Ndombele video-called young Spurs fans on Starlight Ward, the hospital’s children’s unit, and also donated gifts to the children and staff on the ward.

Spurs visit The club visits each year to make sure that children don't miss out on festive fun simply because they're in hospital. Due to the pandemic, North Mid has had to change visiting arrangements so worked with Spurs to find a way to make a this year’s visit happen and bring a little joy in what can be a difficult time.

Maria Kane, Chief Executive of North Middlesex University Hospital, said: “Given the visiting arrangements in place at the hospital due to the pandemic, I’m so pleased we were able to find a way for our friends at Spurs to say hello to our younger patients. The smiles on their faces show how much this means to them.”

North Mid Charity, who organised the visit, has recently launched their Christmas Appeal. They want to spread some Christmas joy to all children and older patients spending Christmas in North Middlesex University Hospital by making sure they have a gift to open on Christmas Day.
