Helping younger patients celebrate Eid at North Mid

North Mid Charity helped to make this Eid extra special for the young patients who are spending time in hospital with fun-filled activity bags.

Rabiya Mehter, Trust Muslim Chaplain and her team contacted colleagues, friends, and local businesses, spreading the word about wanting to make Eid a little more special for children being treated at North Mid. The result was bags filled with toys, games, sweets, and colourful decorations, which were distributed to children and young people at the hospital’s dedicated children’s wards. They knew that these gifts would not only brighten the children's day but also lift their spirits during their stay at the hospital.

Knowing firsthand the significance of Eid and the joy it brings, the Charity embraced the opportunity to make a difference. From organising fundraising activities to collecting monetary donations, they poured their energy into ensuring that every child would feel cherished on Eid.

Mete Redif, charity manager at North Mid Charity, conveyed his thanks on behalf of the hospital staff and patients, stating, "It’s great when our community comes together to ensure that patients and their families are able to celebrate holidays whilst they are in hospital. Being an inpatient can be a difficult time for children and their families, but North Mid Charity tries to ease some of the worry and concern which can be caused by a hospital visit.”
