North Mid’s ‘Magnificent Seven’ raise over £3,000 in Royal Parks Half Marathon
In a heart-warming display of determination and community spirit, seven extraordinary individuals recently participated in the Royal Parks Half Marathon, collectively raising over £3000 for North Mid Charity.
The Royal Parks Half Marathon is not just a race; it's an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others. Year after year, individuals from all walks of life come together to take on this challenging 13.1-mile run through London's most beautiful parks, all while raising funds for North Mid Charity.
A mixture of North Mid Staff and members of the local community laced up their trainers and tackled the stunning central London Half Marathon, taking in some of the capital's world-famous landmarks, and four of London's eight Royal Parks - Hyde Park, The Green Park, St James's Park and Kensington Gardens.
Reece Tailor, member of the local community said:
"Running this race- let alone finishing was a miracle for me after suffering a knee injury which kept me out of training for months. I knew it would be hard but it was about more than me. It was about raising money for such an amazing cause for the hospital charity local to me and somewhere where I know the money will be going to people who really need the extra support"
Fundraising manager Mete Redif who worked with the runners to maximise their fundraising efforts, said:
“We are truly grateful for the time and effort which the runners went to during their training and race day for the Royal Parks Half Marathon. It was great to have a mixture of both staff and members of our local community come together to support North Mid Charity. Not only did they push themselves during the physical training, but they also went above and beyond with their fundraising efforts!”
