Team North Mid/Royal Free Charity secures a podium place in the Mighty Mini Season Opener.

The Mighty Mini Championship roared back into action this past weekend, kicking off the season with an exhilarating opener at Silverstone. The event was filled with highs and lows, showcasing the tenacity and skill of the teams and drivers involved.

During the 23/24 season, Ahmed Shahrabani (co-founder of Locums Nest) was supporting the North Mid Charity by displaying the logo and scannable QR code on his mini and raised over £2,500.

At this weekend’s season opener at Silverstone, Ahmed has debuted a new logo which celebrates the partnership with North Mid Charity and Royal Free Charity- and it did not disappoint.

Following Pre-Race testing on Friday, Ahmed’s mini ran into a mechanical failure which ended up with the engine overheating and dropping power which resulted in overnight trackside repair to get the car ready for qualifying.

Despite mechanical issues during the Pre-Test racing which saw Ahmed’s mini require overnight trackside repair, he successfully secured a starting place of 4 out of 15 on the grid for race day.

Ahmed finished the race in second place, securing a podium position and confirming the highest finishing positing since supporting charitable activities at North Mid. But that wasn’t enough- Ahmed’s mini was also confirmed as recording the fastest lap of the entire weekend.
