About our looked after children service

We aim to support the health and wellbeing of children and young people who are looked after by Enfield local authority wherever they are placed, during their time in care.

We are specialist nurses who have undertaken extra training to assess the health needs of, and to work with children and young people who are in care.

What we offer

It is a legal requirement for all children/young people in care to have holistic health assessments in order to assess their health and wellbeing needs. Our service arranges and/or provides these assessments and ensures a plan of action is in place to meet each child/young persons needs.  We also support partner agencies by providing advice and expertise on health issues and offer training for all practitioners who work with and support children in care including social workers and foster carers.

Who is the service for

Children and young people aged 0-18 who are looked after by Enfield Local Authority and for all carers and practitioners who work with them.
